Sound

Speed scale: for slow city driving. At 50% the engine at 50 km/h sounds like it does at 100 km/h. The speedometer still shows your real speed. Intensity: how eagerly acceleration turns into throttle and how late it shifts. Character: from a quiet stock engine to a lumpy cam with open pipes. Crackle: pops and bangs when you lift off.

How to use it in your Tesla
  1. While parked, open likecozy.com/teslasound in the car's browser and bookmark it.
  2. Pick a car, press Start engine and allow location access when the browser asks.
  3. Turn up the media volume. Your music can keep playing at the same time.
  4. Drive. The engine follows your GPS speed. To blip the throttle at a stop, hold Rev.

Keep this page open on screen, because browsers mute background tabs. The sound plays through the cabin speakers. A web page cannot use the external Boombox speaker.

Test drive

Switch to Test drive to hear the car without moving. Use the Brake and Gas pedals on screen, or press Demo. Test drive reacts instantly. In GPS mode, GPS adds about half a second of delay.

Questions

Does it work in other EVs or on my phone?

Yes. It works in any modern browser: Tesla Model 3, Y, S, X, Cybertruck and other EVs with a browser. You can also use a phone connected to the car over Bluetooth. Bluetooth adds about 1.5–2 seconds of delay.

Why does it need my location?

Speed comes from GPS, and the engine sound follows that speed. Location is processed only in your browser. It is never sent anywhere.

Is it a recording?

No. The engine sound is synthesized live in your browser: firing pulses, exhaust resonance, intake noise, whine and pops.

Location is blocked. How do I turn it on?
  • Tesla browser: tap the site info icon next to the address and set Location to Allow. Also check Controls → Software → Data Sharing.
  • Chrome / Edge: click the lock or sliders icon in the address bar, then set Location to Allow, then reload.
  • Safari on iPhone: tap aA → Website Settings → Location → Allow. Also check Settings → Privacy → Location Services → Safari Websites.
  • Safari on Mac: Safari → Settings → Websites → Location.
